Role Overview

As our Mobile App Developer, you'll develop, and deploy top-tier mobile applications using React Native. This role requires a self-starter who can work autonomously while ensuring that all app submissions meet the rigorous standards of the app stores. Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop & Maintain: Build robust, scalable mobile apps using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.
  2. App Store Submissions: Lead the process of submitting apps for review, ensuring compliance with all guidelines from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and other relevant platforms.
  3. Collaborate: Work closely with our Design Lead and Product Development Team to deliver cohesive app experiences.
  4. Troubleshoot & Optimize: Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues quickly, ensuring smooth app performance.
  5. Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in mobile development to continuously improve app performance and user experience.

Skills and experience

What you must have:

  1. React Native Expertise: Demonstrated experience in building mobile applications using React Native.
  2. App Submission Experience: Proven track record of successfully submitting apps to app stores, with a deep understanding of their review processes and requirements.
  3. Independent & Proactive: Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and deliver projects on time.
  4. Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of mobile app development best practices, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  6. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  7. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus points if you have any of the following:

  1. ReactJS Experience: Familiarity with ReactJS for potential cross-platform projects.
  2. Ruby on Rails Experience: Familiarity with Ruby on Rails for potential cross-platform projects.
  3. Knowledge of Pivotal Tracker: Experience with Pivotal Tracker for effective project management.
  4. Interest in the Gym/Fitness Industry: An understanding of how gyms operate will assist in your ability to understand the context under which we develop our solutions.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components AND 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

 

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  1. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  2. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of Australian Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
  3. NV1/2, PV Clearance Assessment: This position may require an enhanced background check conducted through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.

 

While not required, we also look for the following

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  2. Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).

 

Responsibilities

  1. Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifies the cause(s) of issues, and replaces faulty components with minimal customer and business disruption.
  2. Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  3. Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  4. Follows procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  5. Assists and provides guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  6. Completes required training aligned to the role and workload; observes more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
  7. Contributes to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information with others, contributing to regular team meetings, asking questions, and staying apprised of the status of others' work.
  8. Has pride and a sense of accountability for the service quality, completeness, and resulting user experience; displays accountability and ownership of the data center facilities.

The Backend Engineer is responsible for the system to work behind the scenes. The role is to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy-to-use API for the frontend part of the system. Although the work is usually hidden from the user, the Backend Engineer bears the full responsibility for the application functionality, performance and scalability. The Backend Engineer knows how to write clean modern APIs, integrate with legacy systems and work with databases

 

  1. Design and develop the business logic and backend systems of the product
  2. Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, performing and complete APIs
  3. Decipher existing companies software systems and be able to hook in application to applicable data sources
  4. Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks
  5. Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code
  6. Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

Requirements

 

  1. You have experience as a backend engineer in common languages and frameworks, e.g., Node Js, ExpressJS, NestJS or any other JS framework
  2. You have experience in AWS
  3. You have experience in GraphQL
  4. You have deep knowledge of object-oriented programing and engineering principles such as SOLID
  5. You have significant experience writing and utilizing autonomous services-oriented restful API services and performance tuning largescale apps
  6. You have experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL and NoSQL stores, e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Postgres
  7. You are able to write effective unit, integration, and API tests. It is a plus if you experience integrating with JavaScript frameworks, such as React
